Pretty sad, bad ethics.
There is no doubt that this guy knew what was wrong.
I called about my cheap little sewing machine (it was a singer, basic model. This shop does not sell singers, but they are a recognized reputable brand) saying I was having (explained specific problem ). Man told me that the model was junk out of the box. That they no longer made parts for it, ect. Well I talked to my friend and it was a really simple fix. It's running like a champ now. This is a dirty way to get business and had he been straight forward I would have most likely went to him for an upgrade.
They carry Kirby parts and repaired my Kirby!
I live in St. Paul and stopped in for a part today. The fellow I spoke with knew all about my machine and gave me valuable advice about the durability of different machines and what's changed in the marketplace. Well worth talking with a pro about what machine will truly last.
